Q: Can the battery of the 300series be replaced?

A: The 300series battery cannot be replaced by the user or utility. There are several reasons for this:

• The meters are sealed to IP68 to prevent damage due to flooded installation pits, rainfall, etc.
• Prevents tampering of the meter. To interefere with meter operation, the meter's case must be evidently damaged
• Local regulations require meters to be tested every 10 years. The Flownetix 300series is at a cost low enough to be replaced with a new meter every 10 years. Utilities can be offered a bulk return/refurbish service for battery replacement.
